Mosscarr Manchino 201g (1987) (142cms)

The horse who started it all—it’s entirely Chino’s fault we have Haflingers! I’d known him since he was a yearling and had the privilege of competing with him from the age of four. Over the years, we shared countless adventures across multiple disciplines including Endurance, Side Saddle, Showing, Dressage, Jumping, and Cross Country.

Chino was a strikingly beautiful dark chestnut, his rich coat a legacy from his sire, made all the more eye-catching by his brilliant flaxen mane and tail.

We sadly said goodbye to Chino in May 2022, at the incredible age of 35. His legacy lives on—not only in the horses we now breed and love, but in the hearts of everyone who knew him. There isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t think of this true legend and smile.

Sire: Maximilian GB1 (Modus)
Dam: Eger Elsa 34GB (Stepper)

Earendil Ahoshta 425g (2000) (150cms)

Ashman had been Chino’s partner in crime since he was a yearling, and together they formed an unforgettable duo. A truly talented and versatile gelding, Ashman turned his hoof to almost everything—competing in Endurance, Side Saddle, Showing, Dressage, Jumping, and Cross Country with the same enthusiasm and reliability that made him a joy to work with.

His beautiful colouring traced back through his dam’s line, which connects to the influential ‘M’ line, adding depth and distinction to his pedigree.

We were devastated to lose Ashman in May 2025 to a sudden heart attack at just 25 years old. His absence has left a huge void at Otztaler, but his spirit and memories live on in every corner of our lives. Moving forward without him is hard—but his legacy continues to inspire everything we do.
