And now the Otztaler Girls. Head of the girls is Oxnead Saffron and she is joined by 3 daughters - Otztaler Sakira, Otztaler Savannah and Otztaler Sakiya, with a fourth daughter, Otztaler Santana, living next door.

OXNEAD SAFFRON
Saff, along with Ash, is by the famous UK stallion, Alpine and out of Oxnead Sapphire. She is 12 years old, stands at 14.3hh and has inherited a fabulous temperament from her parents. We have successfully shown her in hand over the years but for the last few years Saff has loved being a Mum. Riding her has come as a bit of a shock to her, which we did once we'd weaned Santana in 2007 - but she loves it !!

Saff has a really soft spot for the fabulous stallion Bernhard (the only B line stallion in the UK, sadly now retired from stud duties, but to fair is 28 !!) and all of our older girls are by him. All inherit great temperament and paces from both Saff and Bernie.

Saffron was thrilled at being a mum again in 2010 and made Haflinger history by being the first mare in the UK to have a purebred foal through the use of AI. Whilst loving having the foal she wasn't quite sure that AI is fair, she didn't get to meet the gorgeous Anthony !!

OTZTALER SAKIRA
Kira is 8 years old and was the first Haflinger born under the Otztaler prefix, back in 2003. She was inspected by the Haflinger Society in 2006 and passed as an Elite mare, which we were absolutely thrilled about. Kira stands at 14.2hh and has her taken after her father with a fabulous dark chestnut coat.

Kira was broken to saddle in 2006 and has inherited her fathers incredible paces and positive attitude to work, she loves it !!!. Kira became a mum for the first time last year and is very proud of son Cody. Having weaned Cody, Kira is back under saddle and going well. She is out and about competing for the first time and doing really well showing in-hand, under saddle and also competing at Dressage.

OTZTALER SAVANNAH
Savannah is 6 years old, is the spit of her mother in appearance and currently stands at 14.3hh. She has followed her mother and is a lighter chestnut. Like Kira she has inherited fabulous paces from her Mum and Dad and a great temperament.

Nothing phases Savannah, having never been on a lorry for any length of time she handled coming up to Scotland from the Midlands on the transporter when we moved up north like a pro. To be honest we're not sure how she'll cope with a short journey as every time she's been on the lorry it has been down to England !!

Savannah did us proud at her inspections in 2008, so we sent her off to visit the fabulous Silvretta stallion, Oxnead Windsor, just like her sister Kira. Savannah was proud to introduce her son - Otztaler Wicasa (Cass) in 2009 and he is growing up in to a lovely horse. Having tried AI, she is also the proud mother of this years foal - Otztaler Amakai (Kai) by the Austrian bred stallion Anthony 312/T

She loved her basic training, was backed last year and loved chasing round the moors with Ash. She's a very girly girl, loving her pink bandages !!

OTZTALER SAKIYA
Kiya is our yearling filly. We were very excited to welcome Kiya to Otztaler as she was our our first foal born here in Scotland using AI, which we are very proud of.

Kiya needs to be at the centre of everything and is never far away when you go out in the fields. She currently shares a stable block with Cass but is about to be separated for him as he will be babysitting this years foal, Otztaler Amakai over the winter. This means she is moving into the main block with her Mum and her sisters.

Kiya is getting used to not being the baby any more and is growing up fast. She is not far off the same height of older sister Kira and best friend Cass so at the moment stands around 14.1hh. She is taking after her Dad and going a stunning dark golden colour.
