And now the Otztaler Girls. Head of the girls is Oxnead Saffron and she is joined by 3 daughters - Otztaler Sakira, Otztaler Savannah and Otztaler Santana.

OXNEAD SAFFRON
Saff, along with Ash, is by the famous UK stallion, Alpine and out of Oxnead Sapphire. She is 9 years old, stands at 14.3hh and has inherited a fabulous temperament from her parents. We have successfully shown her in hand over the years but for the last few years Saff has loved being a Mum. Riding her has come as a bit of a shock to her, which we did once we'd weaned Santana last year- but she loves it !!

Saff has a really soft spot for the fabulous stallion Bernhard (the only B line stallion currently in the UK) and all of our girls are by him. All inherit great temperament and paces from both Saff and Bernie. Saffron is back down visiting Bernie this year so we hoping for another arrival in 2009.

OTZTALER SAKIRA
Kira was born in 2003 and was the first Haflinger born under the Otztaler prefix. She was inspected by the Haflinger Society in 2006 and passed as an Elite mare, which we were absolutely thrilled about. Kira stands at 14.2hh and has her taken after her father with a fabulous dark chestnut coat.

Kira was broken to saddle last year and has inherited her fathers incredible paces and positive attitude to work, she loves it !!!. Kira has become a mum this year for the first time and is very proud of son Cody (see his photos under new arrivals !!).

OTZTALER SAVANNAH
Savannah was born in 2005 and is getting used to not being the baby any more since the latest arrival !! Savannah is growing up fast and currently stands at just under 14.3hh. She has followed her mother and is a lighter chestnut. Like Kira she has inherited fabulous paces from her Mum and Dad and a great temperament.

Nothing phases Savannah, having never been on a lorry for any length of time she handled coming up to Scotland from the Midlands on the transporter when we moved up north like a pro. To be honest we're not sure how she'll cope with a short journey as every time she's been on the lorry it has been down to England !!

Savannah has done well at her inspections this year and is now visiting the fabulous Silvretta stallion, Oxnead Windsor, just like her sister Kira so fingers crossed for 2009 !! . She has loved her basic training and is backed and loves chasing round the moors with Ash. She's a very girly girl, loving her pink bandages !!

OTZTALER SANTANA
We were very excited to welcome Santana to Otztaler last year and very proud to breed our first foal here in Scotland.

In the main Santana looks gorgeous, but sadly on the days she goes out without a rug she enjoys nothing more than bathing in the extensive mud & dust we have. She does a fabulous impression of a swamp donkey - her Dad (Bernie) would be proud !!

Santana is getting used to not being the baby any more and is growing up fast. She is not far off the same height of older sister Kira so at the moment stands just short of 14hh, not bad for a yearling !! She remains very pale but is loosing her baby coat (all over the fields and her stable whenever she rolls) and is slowly going a similar colour to her Mum and big sister, Savannah.
