Welcome to the Otztaler Boys !!!. Head of the Haflingers here is Mosscarr Manchino (Chino) and he is joined by our other gelding Earendil Ahoshta (Ash).

MOSSCARR MANCHINO
Chino is by one of the first stallions imported into the UK, Maximilian, and out of one the founder mares in the UK, Eger Elsa. He stands at 14.2hh. He is the last of his line, sadly, but his older brother Mosscarr Maximilian still lives at Silvretta. Now at the tender age of 21, Chino is thriving in Scotland and certainly not acting his age. We still have no brakes at all as soon as his feet touch the moors or when we go to a nearby beach !!!
-
Over the years Chino's greatest passion has been Endurance and we have covered thousands of miles over the years. A close second has been jumping and those who have been to the Haflinger Society's annual Breed Show will have seen him tearing round the Jumping and Working Hunter courses either by himself but also successfully with various partners in pairs.
-
Since representing Great Britain at the the Haflinger World show in Austria in 2000 he has also competed extensively at side-saddle. He has been Pairs champion at the National side-saddle championships with Ash's mum Earendil Elentari twice.
-
Since being in Scotland Chino has been staying on the flat and is doing well on the Dressage circuit locally (although it isn't a favourite of his !!). To make things up to him we've also been out and about at some Enduance Rides which have absolutely stunning scenary in this part of the world.

EARENDIL AHOSHTA
Ash is by the famous UK stallion Alpine out of Earendil Elentari (who has had major success side-saddle over the past few years). He inherits fabulous paces and temperament from both his parents. Ash does seem to have forgotten to stop growing and at the age of 8 now stands at 15hh !!
-
Ash's talents are varied, he has been successfully shown both in hand and under saddle, competes at Dressage, loves jumping and has had a go at Endurance. We have broken him to side-saddle and early signs are promising (hopefully he'll follow in his Mum's footsteps !!).
-
Ash is adapting to life in Scotland. He enjoys being out and about on the moors and working in the arena improving both his flat work and jumping. He's getting some great results out on the Dressage circuit here in Scotland and also clocking up some decent times chasing around the countryside on Endurance rides with Chino.
